Join Palantir CEO Alexander Karp with New York Times DealBook creator Andrew Ross Sorkin on the promises and peril of Silicon Valley, tech’s changing relationship with Washington, and what it means for our future — and his new book, The Technological Republic.
Named “Best CEO of 2024” by The Economist, Alexander Karp is a vital player in Silicon Valley as the CEO of Palantir — and he’s concerned that the drift of American tech has led the country astray. When did marketing algorithms overtake intellectual ambition? How can Silicon Valley get back to its roots of offering us world-changing technologies and solutions to our society’s most pressing issues?
Offering a stark warning about Silicon Valley’s evolving relationship to power and society, in The Technological Republic Karp issues a rallying cry on the intersection of technology, government, and innovation. Hear him and Sorkin discuss the new threats to American progress, tech’s changing role in our culture, how we can renew technological ambition in service of democratic values, and more.
